The Hague

The second EGEE conference was one of the events that took place in the Netherlands under the banner "European Leadership in e-Science and Grids" during the six months of the Dutch European presidency.

Other EC Research Infrastructure Grid projects participated in this large event where project partners gathered to discuss issues and work together.

EGEE, DEISA, SEEGRID, DILIGENT and GN2 hosted the first Concertation Meeting on eInfrastrutures on the Monday and Tuesday.

Registration

The registration costs are:

Early Registration (until 18 October) Late Registration (after 18 October)
Full Week EGEE 500 euro 600 euro
Daily Rate 125 euro 150 euro
DEISA Rate* 300 euro 350 euro

*The DEISA rate is for three days (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) but excludes attendance at the opening reception (Monday evening) and dinner (Tuesday evening). Delegates can attend both events for an additional cost of 25 euros for the opening reception and 50 Euros for the dinner on Tuesday evening.

Venue

The conference was held at Netherlands Congress Centrum (NCC) in The Hague (Den Haag also called 's-Gravenhage). The NCC is situated in the West of The Hague, between the historical centre and Scheveningen which itself is the port area of The Hague. Getting There

The Hague has good connections to the airport by both road and rail. Trains run every quarter of an hour, taking 30-40 minutes from Schiphol International to the The Hague Central Station. For further details on train times, see the national train timetable.
