AEGEAN
The University of the Aegean is quite different when compared to other traditional universities in Greece and abroad. It is the only University in Greece, and one of the few in the world, which is based on different islands of an archipelago functioning as a university-network.
The University's research excellence, innovative scientific fields pursued by all departments, modern curricula, student-centered methods of teaching and learning and emphasis on skill-acquisition means the University also differs in the quality of education it provides.
The mission of the University is to develop and maintain quality teaching and research in selected fields of Higher Education to satisfy the current needs of modern Greek society within the framework of the "global village".
