The Research Academic Computer Technology Institute's primary goals include: participation in national and European institutional research efforts, involvement in basic and applied research, a high degree of international expertise assimilation, continuous scientific and research progress of its human resources, and adapting its research to the country's specific technological needs.
In order to attain its goals, the institute collaborates with public and private institutions, Universities and national and foreign research centres. Its close relationship with the Greek academic community is demonstrated by the representation of four Greek Universities on its Administrative Board.
The institute brings extensive experience in research projects and operates in the Patras area the GRNET Operations Resource Centre and the Hellasgrid Resource Centre, which will be added to the EGEE infrastructure.
